How we test straps
Five criteria decide whether a strap suits your instrument. Here is each one, and how the Fretweave woven strap answers it.

Our criteria
- Fit across instruments. The strap is a full 5 cm wide and adjusts from 82 to 137 cm, so it fits soprano to baritone ukulele as well as acoustic, electric and bass guitars. Both PU (faux) leather ends have a keyhole slot that grips a standard strap button.
- Attachment methods. With one strap button, one leather end hooks onto it and the other loops around the headstock behind the nut. With no buttons at all, the keyhole ends work with an inexpensive clip-on soundhole hook or a simple headstock tie.
- Comfort over time. The 5 cm width spreads the weight across your shoulder instead of digging in, and the leather ends soften with use.
- Build & pattern. The pattern is a jacquard weave with raised thread, not a flat print, so the color runs through the band and will not peel or crack the way printed straps do.
- Look on the instrument. Four woven artworks: Blue Flower and Blue White Flower read cool and vintage, Red Flower is the warm, Hendrix-era look, and White Lozenge is the graphic, monochrome option that suits any instrument.
